Q: How should my equipment be prepared?

A: Any equipment with any type of memory and data that is ready for retirement, MUST be sanitized. Agencies will still call the Service Desk and request that the assigned field technician sanitize the hard drive or device. The hard drives will be removed from the devices and sanitized on site. For copiers, printers, or other devices that do not permit the use of this technique, the drive will be sanitized using an alternate method, degaussed, or destroyed.
