CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Susannah Carpenter has been named West Virginia's acting chief technology officer, officials announced Friday.
Carpenter replaces former technology chief Kyle Schafer, who resigned last month after securing a job as a consultant with Columbus, Ohio-based GCR Ltd.
Carpenter, a certified public accountant, previously worked as assistant to the comptroller for the Department of Administration's Finance Division. She also worked as research manager at the state Legislative Auditor's Office. She is the sister of actress Jennifer Garner.
A search is underway for a permanent chief technology officer.
The Office of Technology has more than 200 employees.
