The Technology Learning Center (TLC) is a unit within the
West Virginia Office of Technology (WVOT) whose responsibility is to support
State agencies in their day-to-day office automation needs. An employee is more productive if he/she
knows how to effectively and efficiently use the tools available.
TLC delivers both third party developed and custom content
for a wide range of information technology courses – from Microsoft’s
productivity software and Cisco phone and original, staff-developed
topics. The TLC emphasizes individual
instruction to meet the training needs of Executive Branch employees, offering
training in a traditional classroom setting, self-paced e-learning and virtual
classroom webinars. By using instructor
led virtual classroom webinars, it allows customers throughout the state to
receive the same training without the travel time or expense.
The TLC also helps state agencies meet their unique
business-specific training needs for their staff members and the public through
both standard and custom training, delivered both in person and online. The Learning Management System (LMS) provides
e-learning infrastructure, allowing the delivery of online content as well as
instructor led course registration. Numerous
agencies utilize the LMS for their training and testing needs.
