Client Services

The Client Services division of the West Virginia Office of Technology is focused on technical support and assistance to our supported agencies and partners. Functional units include the Service Desk, Tier 2 Support, and Field Support.

Data Center

This team is comprised of 2 units; Backup and Recovery, and Servers and Storage. 


Mainframe Unit: The Systems Team is responsible for providing support for the Enterprise Server (Mainframe) environment. This mostly includes installation, testing, and upgrading system software that supports applications on the Mainframe such as COBOL, SAS, DB2 z/OS, Linux, Oracle, etc. In total, there are nearly one hundred (100) products running in the Mainframe environment. The group is also responsible for the Mainframe data, the virtual tape libraries, and the physical tape library. 

Enterprise Management: The Enterprise Management group is broken up into two (2) smaller groups: Enterprise Account Management, and Enterprise Systems Management. 

The Enterprise Account Management team is responsible for managing accounts and access to resources within the statewide WV Executive Network.  This includes but is not limited to creating and removing accounts for employees and devices attached to the statewide network; troubleshooting issues with connectivity and access; granting and removing access to secured locations as requested by authorized personnel; creating and maintaining shared information access on the network, and maintaining administrative rights to staff and servers.


The Enterprise Systems Management team is responsible for Active Directory (on-premise and Azure/O365 environments).  This includes DNS, MFA configuration/maintenance,  and Self Service Password Reset functionality. This team is also responsible for Microsoft System Center Configuration Management, which pushes out software, updates and patches to the Executive domain.  This team also handles computer imaging for the Executive domain, which includes KIOSK images.  The team also handles RightFax.
