About the Information Technology Governance Office

About the Information Technology Governance Office:

The WVOT Information Technology Governance Office consists of the Intergovernmental Relations Office, the Human Resources Office, the Technology Learning Center and the Administrative Support Office.

It is the objective of the IT Governance Office to establish standards for the governance of the administrative functions necessary to deliver the IT services needed to meet the goals of the statewide strategic plan.

Governance cannot exist without standards, and efficient delivery cannot be implemented without diligent oversight.  It is therefore the intention of the WVOT to become strategic partners with state agencies.  As strategic partners, standards and processes will be communicated and utilized to ensure the effective and efficient use of IT in enabling the organizations to achieve its goals and objectives.

The most important resource we have is our staff.

Human Resource Office

Technology Learning Center

is a unit within the HRO whose responsibility is to support State agencies in their day-to-day office automation needs. An employee is more productive if he/she knows how to efficiently use the tools available. Therefore, we offer classes for various software packages supported on the personal computer. TLC's training program has been developed for general State government activities, and because classes are small , individual instruction is emphasized. Classes are offered in a variety of formats: Instructor-led hands-on training, Instructor-led internet classroom using MeetingPlace, and E-learning self-paced classes. Classes are designed to meet individual needs, whether he/she is a new or advanced user. This group can be contact via email ottlc@wv.gov.

Administrative Support Office

To better facilitate and document processes and standards, the ASO provides administrative support services to the units within WVOT.  This allows for better, more efficient communication between units as well as ensuring compliance with administrative and operational procedures.  This office facilitates a standard approach to offering services and foster partnerships in alignment with the overall goal of the WVOT.
